Brook International Newsletter December 2012

All the team at Brook International are pleased to announce the installation of our new ‘Mertex’ computer system! The old computer software was purchased in 1998. It was cutting-edge back then, but after 14 years it had definitely seen better days!

‘Mertex’ has some great features that should make doing business with Brook International a lot easier. You can look forward to:

– Faster service! We now use bar code scanners at each point of sale.
– Accurate orders!
– Easier to understand invoices!
– Rapid despatch! We now have hand held wireless scanners in the warehouse so our staff can pick your order and have it ready for despatch quicker.
– A paperless future! The ‘Mertex’ system can send your order confirmations, delivery notes, invoices and statements to your inbox.
To get the most from this new system our staff is in the process of updating all of our customer’s files. Information that we need includes:

1) Your company name.
2) Current mailing and shipping addresses.
3) Phone numbers (i.e.: work, mobile & fax)
4) E-Mail addresses for sales order acknowledgements, sales invoices and sales statements.
5) Credit card updated info for customers who prefer to keep one on file here
6) VAT Registration details

We believe that once we are fully up and running you will be very pleased with the enhanced service that Brook International will be able to offer.

Please be patient with us as we are still learning about the new system Brook International has for 114 years concentrated on ensuring customer satisfaction. The new system should help us to continue to give great service in the future.

Bah Humbug!

Some of our fabrics have been used this year to make very colourful costumes for Sutton–in–Craven Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies production of ‘Bah Humbug – A Christmas Carol Panto’. Brook Woven and Knitted Flag & Brook Woven Satin were amongst the fabrics that were cut up and sewn to make numerous Dresses, Pinafores, Capes and even Evening Dresses for Fezziwigs Christmas Party in their production that is being given this December. ‘Break a Leg’ to everyone concerned!

Season of Good Will

We would like you to join us in saying Thank you and Congratulations to One Stop Promotions for being kind enough to help out those less fortunate than ourselves in donating part of their warehouse space for Operation Christmas Child, a charity organised by samaritanspurse.com. This charity sends hundreds of thousands of gift filled shoeboxes that have been donated from around the UK from schools, churches and other organisations to underprivileged children around the world. This is one of the largest children’s Christmas charities and last year over 200,000 boxes were packed up and sent to the children. The shoe boxes that are collected this year at One Stop Promotions are being sent to Kosovo. Mr Tim Turner at One Stop Promotions is hoping that approx. 6,000 boxes will be sent this year from his warehouse.

This is the second year that he has kindly donated his warehouse to this worthy charity.

Everyone at Brook International would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
